LED Wall Clock and Timer With 10 CM Digits

It seems that building a unique and wonderful clock is something of a hacking rite-of-passage. Admittedly, however, some are more about style than functionality. While such experimental devices can be wonderful–and I’ve certainly done my fair share of clock experimentation–sometimes we need something more conventional, with lettering that can be read across the room.

Described as a practical, nice looking, and reliable device, the Indoor Wall LED Timer Clock by Rousis Systems LTD is able to display time, temperature, and date on its four 10 cm (or ~4 inch) 7-segment digits. Additionally, the device can be used in a countdown mode, or with buttons that start and stop the clock to determine how long you’ve been doing an activity.

Applications for such a device include gyms, keeping track of speech times, athletic competitions, and the like. It could certainly be employed to help judge soldering competitions, or to let people know just how long you’ve been working on a certain issue. It features a wide array of connection options, and several clocks can even be synchronized, meaning all kinds of uses for your implementation.

Be sure to check it out on display in the video below. If this isn’t quite your style, you might also peruse these (much smaller) electronic “sand” timers, or this TTL Clock Kit.
